(1) No forest area containing trees shall be used for settlement or resettlement.
(2) Before the commencement of this Act, the trees existing at the time of the grant of such land shall remain under the ownership of the Government of Nepal and such trees shall be removed as prescribed in the land settled or resettled subject to the existing laws relating to forestry.
(3) Any person who removes the trees mentioned in sub-section (2) contrary to this Act shall be punished as if he commits an offense in a national forest.
